Yop Update 31 - Finishitis

I am not certain that 'finishitis' is a word, but it certainly describes my week.

I finished my doubleknit hat (which I turned into a cowl) so fit wouldn't be an issue.

And then the Nurmilintu came of the needles, picot edging and all.

Next off the needles with an i-cord cast off was my 3rd Peace Cowl. I am seriously addicted to this pattern.

And then, because yesterday I had time and motivation, I finished....drum roll please...the scottish hap Uncia:

Of course this coming week will involved A LOT of blocking, but I am up for that.

So for my January Stash-Down I have knit 616 gms from my stash! 502 gms of that is fingering weight so I am well ahead of schedule for my fine yarn de-stash challenge for 2017.

This coming week will be all about the three pairs of socks I currently have on the needles from my 'startitis' binge two weeks ago.

And I will start another cowl with the leftover yarn from my uncia. Pattern TBD but I am leaning towards another peace cowl.

To see what other yoppers are up to visit here.

  1. "Finishitis"? I like it!

I love the cowl. I can't quite decide which side I like better, and being reversible is awesome!

  2. Almost all of that had me in a state of I-might-understand-if-only-I-spoke-serious-knitting-itis, so I really appreciate the pics.
Can we please see the items post -blocking? Before and after shots are so ooh-aaah inspiring. You continue to amaze.

  3. Great finishes! Your hat turned into a cowl is just gorgeous. I imagine you will enjoy wearing that. I can't wait to see the Uncia blocked. What a beauty that looks to be, too.

  4. Gosh if I had that many projects on the go I'd develop finishphobia - fear of never finishing anything! lol I'm just concentrating on a baby blanket for now :)

  5. Wow! 4 FO's? And they weren't easy knits either! You are very prolific in the knitting arena! The hat/cowl is beautiful and the hap shawl....you never work on anything that would be considered an "easy" knit.....such talent you have! Congratulations!

  6. Brilliant idea to turn the hat into a cowl, and it is beautiful. The hap looks stunning too, well done.

  7. Isn't it funny how one can have so many projects on the go at once, all different levels of complexity or time required and yet there are times when they all finish at the same time! That happens to me too! I still don't know why. It has left me with an empty feeling though and it feels strange to have nothing in progress when it happens. It can be liberating and also disconcerting at the same time. :-)
